DeKALB COUNTY, Ala. — At this week’s meeting of the DeKalb County Commission, it was announced that the Kilpatrick community would see some updates to their roads.

Lucas Blankenship of Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments (TARCOG) presented the Commission with a CDBG grant resolution for road paving in the amount of $350,000 with the Commission matching $115,000 for paving in Kilpatrick.

The roads included in the paving are County Roads 69, 113, 179, 370, 374, 467, and 479.

“This area is in dire need of some assistance, so thank you to everybody that was a part of this,” said Commissioner Scot Westbrook, whose district includes the Kilpatrick community.

In other business, the Commission:

  • Accepted a bid from Southeastern Road Treatment for liquid calcium chlorine
