DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. — Teams across DeKalb County are gearing up for the Area Tournament that will be held in various places next week. 

In Class 1A, Valley Head Varsity Boys hold a 7-13 overall record and are 3-4 in the area. The Valley Head Varsity Girls have an overall record of 7-13 and an area record of 3-4. 

In Class 2A, Collinsville Varsity Boys have an overall record of 15-9 and are 5-0 in the area. The Collinsville Varsity Girls have an overall record of 22-4 and an area record of 4-1. The Fyffe Varsity Boys have an overall record of 22-4 with 3-3 in the area. The Fyffe Varsity Girls boast a 23-5 overall record with an undefeated 6-0 record in the area. The Ider Varsity Boys have an overall record of 1-19 and 0-6 in the area. The Ider Varsity Girls have a 10-17 overall record with 2-4 in the area. 

In Class 3A, the Plainview Varsity Boys have an overall record of 23-2 and a 7-0 record in the area. The Plainview Varsity Girls have an overall record of 16-12 with 3-3 in the area. The Sylvania Varsity Boys boast a 17-7 overall record and an area record of 3-3. The Sylvania Varsity Girls have an overall record of 13-10 with 3-3 in the area. The Geraldine Varsity Boys have a 3-22 overall record with 0-6 in the area. The Geraldine Varsity Girls have an overall 7-18 record with 0-6 in the area. 

In Class 5A, the Crossville Varsity Boys have an overall record of 6-13 and an area record of 2-4. The Crossville Varsity Girls have an overall record of 6-13 and an area record of 2-4. 

In Class 6A, the Fort Payne Varsity Boys have an overall record of 12-11 and an area record of 0-4. The Fort Payne Varsity Girls have an overall record of 19-18 with an area record of 3-1.
