By Staff Reports

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office: On the morning of Monday, November 13th the DeKalb County Sheriff’s School Resource Officer was called to a possible burglary at Fyffe School. When the SRO arrived at the School he found a window to a classroom to be broken, several classrooms had been vandalized and some of the rooms had graffiti on the boards.

Security cameras at the School caught the juvenile that had done this. The juvenile was arrested on November 14th and referred to the Juvenile Probation Office.

Also on November 13th at Crossville Middle School a juvenile was arrested when the juvenile brought a BB pistol into a classroom. At that time the Principal and the SRO was contacted and the juvenile was detained and was transported to Coosa Valley Detention Center.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has been working closely on both incidents with Superintendent Dr. Barnett.

DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Edmondson says “We take these kinds of incidents very seriously, especially with what is happening in Schools and places around the world. Our children are precious and we do everything that we can to protect them.”
