FORT PAYNE, Ala. – Great White Productions, an entertainment promotions company focused  on  energizing  the  Northeastern  Alabama  music  scene  by  bringing  new  acts  to  the  region, is planning a new  series  of  concerts  and  experiences  that  will  bring  exciting  entertainment options to the historic venues of Fort Payne, Alabama.

“The quality and depth of the homegrown musical talent in northeast Alabama, and the Fort Payne area in particular, is unparalleled,”  said  Jeff  White  of  GREAT  WHITE  productions.

“What  this  area  seems  to  be missing is not talent, but exposure and the opportunity to make music a full-time vocation. By bringing in acts with management based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Nashville, Atlanta, and even Los Angeles and New York, we hope to draw a larger audience, who will not only travel to the area to see these groups, but also have the opportunity to discover our homegrown talent.”

Using  existing  historic  structures  in  Fort  Payne  is  an  important  consideration  for  GREAT  WHITE productions,  and  several  concerts  will  be  hosted  by  landmark  buildings  in  the  area  that  are  currently underutilized. GREAT WHITE productions believes that, with proper investment, these buildings can not only reach their full potential, but also be able to pay for their upkeep, protecting their future as a valuable asset to the community.

“Since  the  inception  of  Vintage  1889,  we  have  worked  to  showcase  local  musical  talent  and  use  our spaces  to  enhance  our  community  through  events,  create  an  environment  to  showcase  Fort  Payne  and celebrate its rich heritage,” said local business owner, Lynn Brewer. “GREAT WHITE productions’ efforts are another welcome step toward proving we are on the right track.”

The Great White Production’s concert series will debut on Saturday, Aug. 5, in the Boarding Room of the Big Mill, a historic, 300-seat venue in the heart of Fort Payne, Ala. Headliner, The Dozens, a southern rock,  soul  and  blues  band  in  the  Muscle  Shoals  tradition, will  follow  local  artist,  Keegan  Bost,  a  young singer-songwriter with a very bright future, made even brighter with his association with The Dozens this August.

The second concert in this startup series is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 6, and will feature a popular young Nashville-based rock band with Fort Payne local favorites scheduled to lead in. Artists are signed, but will be announced at a later date.

“This is very exciting,” said Tim Harris, executive director of Fort Payne Main Street. “Fort Payne can be a monster music town! The vision and energy that Mr. White and his associates are bringing to this planned concert series is greatly appreciated and should garner the complete support of our community.”

This ambitious project begs the support of all of northeast Alabama and even northwest Georgia, and is thankful for the support already received. For more information visit www.Facebook.com/GREATWHITEproduction , or call 404-964-7663.
