RAINSVILLE, Ala. — The Southern Torch Coach of the Week is Dustin Goodwin, Head Coach of the Plainview Varsity Football Team.

Coach Goodwin graduated from Demopolis High School.  He attended Etawamba Community College and then transferred to Auburn University where he was a member of  the Auburn University Football Team as backup quarterback. He received his degree from University of North Alabama (UNA) where he played for the UNA Lions as quarterback. Coach Goodwin is coming back for his third year, to lead the Plainview Bears.

Coach Goodwin is married to Sara K. Goodwin.  They have four boys: Whit (7), Colt (6), Grant (3) and newborn Jett, who joined the Goodwin clan this Spring.

Coach Goodwin’s favorite quote for his team is, “Our goal should be getting a little better, every day.”
